Island Girls embody the fun, sassy spirit of life in the tropics. This series is all about enjoying life in the sun. I love painting women enjoying nature, but his collection is unique in that it explores a more bold use of color, playing with the negative space in an unusual way. I love the use of the sun hat as a summer theme, as well as a prop that provides anonymity. I would hope the viewer could imagine being her, feeling the warm sun on her skin, and loving life.
